Abstract:
A simple technology is described for preparing latexes with core-shell particles, in which the composition of the shell copolymer regularly varies from the inner layers of the shell to the particle periphery. Equations are suggested for calculating the instantaneous and integrated compositions of the shell copolymer and for analyzing how the composition of the copolymer varies along the particle radius. Specific examples of synthesis of emulsion copolymers intended for preparing plastisols and latexes with hollow particles demonstrate the benefits from application of the technology suggested.
