Abstract:
A procedure was suggested for preparing vicasol in an approximately 85% yield in a two-phase system consisting of concentrated (∼5-6 M) aqueous solution of NaHSO3 and a solution of 2-methyl-1,4-naphthoquinone in an incombustible organic solvent (e.g., chloroform or trichloroethylene).
