Abstract:
A new preparative method is suggested for aqueous solutions of low-substituted acid salts of molybdovanadophosphoric heteropoly acids of general formula MaH3+n-zaPMo12-nVnO40, where a is the number of the metal cations Mz+, and 0.5n ≤ a ≤ 0.6n. The method involves the preparation of the decavanadates MbH6-zbV10O28 as an intermediate step. The example syntheses of Na, Li, K, Mg, Mn, Co, and Zn salts of H7PMo8V4O40 (HPA-4) with 2 ≤ a ≤ 2.4 are described. The 31P and 51V NMR spectra of the solutions obtained are interpreted.
