Abstract:
Electronic absorption and IR spectroscopy and V-51 NMR showed that dimeric chloride complexes [V2O3(H2O)(8-n)Cl-n]((4-n)+) are formed in the V(V)-HCl-LiCl-H2O system at the ionic strength I = 11.0 mol/l, 0°С, c(HCl) less than or equal to
0.1 mol/l, and c(V) > 0.015 mol/l. At high concentrations of hydrochloric acid, in the vanadium(V) concentration range
2 x 10(-4)-3 x 10(-2) mol/l only mononuclear complexes of the HnVOCl3+n (n = 0-1) type exist.
