Abstract:
Active photocatalysts for photochemical hydrogen production have been prepared by developing
suspensions of semiconductors with heterojunctions formed by CdS or solid solution ZnyCdl_yS and CuxS. In
solution containing both S 2- and SO~- ions, hydrogen is generated concomitantly with thiosulfate ions with
quantum yield of 0.5 + 0.05 with platinized powders of Zn0.17Cdo.83S/CuxS.
