Abstract:
The utilization of triglycerides and oils for production of biofuels is discussed. The composition of the feedstocks, purification of raw materials, as well as various strategies for transformations of triglycerides to biofuels are considered. Transesterification, oxygen removal through hydrodeoxygenation, decarboxylation, and decarbonylation along with hydrogenation of unsaturated feedstocks are reviewed.
