Abstract:
This paper presents the results of an experimental study of the efficiency of thermochemical transformation of solar energy by the conversion of saturated hydrocarbons. In addition to reaction (1), where carbon dioxide gas was needed, the authors have studied processes for the conversion of methane and a propane-butane mixture with steam that are apparently even more promising for the transformation and storage of solar energy.
