Abstract:
The ZSM-5 zeolites and ZSM-5-zeolite containing catalysts coked and annealed from the catalyst coke to a various extent were investigated with IRS and HREM methods. The mechanisms of carbonising and of coke deposition and burning-out were examined. It was established that coke deposits mainly on the outer surface of the polycrystals, outside the coherent area. The coke formation is catalysed by strong Lewis acid sites with vco=2225–2228 sm−1. The area inside the zeolite channels is free from coke deposits up to 7–9 wt.%. The mechanisms of carbonising and of coke burning-out are examined.
