FIELD: gas treatment catalysts.
SUBSTANCE: nitrose gas-cleaning catalyst containing silver oxide and manganese dioxide on alumina carrier is distinguished by additionally containing ferric oxide and cobaltous oxide, final catalyst composition being as follows, wt %: ferric oxide, 10-30; manganese oxide, 4-7; silver oxide, 3.5-10; alumina, the balance. Method of preparing catalyst including impregnation of carrier with silver nitrate aqueous solution and calcination at 500-550 C is distinguished by using, as carrier, reprecipitated aluminum hydroxide or its mixture with commercial-grade aluminum hydroxide at weight ratio from 1:4 to 4:1, which is preliminarily treated by acetic acid and, prior to be impregnated, mixed with ferric oxide, manganese dioxide and cobaltic-cobaltous oxide, molded, dried, and calcined at 500-550 C.
EFFECT: increased catalyst activity.
