English abstract: Waste gases are passed through a stationary layer of catalyst held between layers of inert material, with a periodic reversal in the direction of gas flow; for increased decontamination and a significant change in the time of consumption and​/or concn. of combustible components, the gas flow direction is reversed when the temp. of the gas at the catalyst layer inlet reaches 70-​300°. The catalyst may be Al-​Cu-​Cr rings with outer diam. 15-​50 mm, corresponding to the size of the particles of inert material.
