Abstract:
We have developed a new set of equations for the tight-binding:Green function for electrons in crystals with surfaces and interfaces alternative to the Dyson equations: The solution of the new set of equations allows to represent the Green function in a physically transparent form. Calculation techniques based on the Dyson equations and on the new ones are compared using a one-dimensional atomic chain as an example.
