Abstract:
The kinetics of the polymerization and copolymerization of ethylene with 1-octene and 4-methyl-1-pentene initiated by five bis(indenyl) derivatives of metallocene catalysts differing by chirality and substituents in bridge groups was studied. The activity of the catalysts was found to depend on their structure and the temperature of polymerization. It was shown that high-molecular-mass polymers may be prepared with a high yield at temperatures suitable from the technological viewpoint (70-80 degreesC). The thermal characteristics of the resulting polymers were determined by DSC.
