Abstract:
The kinetics of PP macroradicals termination generated under gamma -irradiation in the presence of low-molecular-mass compounds immobilized in the polymer matrix, which are used as monomers in free-radical polymerization both active, such as styrene and methyl methacrylate, and inactive, such as vinyltriethoxysilane, was studied by EPR spectroscopy. It was shown that the type of the monomer additives determines the mechanism and the rate of PP macroradicals termination. The effective rate constants for the macroradicals termination in the presence and absence of the low-molecular-mass compounds under examination were calculated.
