Abstract:
New methods affording control over principal physicochemical characteristics of Pd/C catalysts are considered. New techniques are proposed for preparing wide-porous and biporous carbon supports with prescribed size and volume of pores. Ways are demonstrated of controlling the microcrystal structure and chemical composition of the surface of the support and also its process parameters: mechanical strength, size, and shape of granules. Various methods for depositing palladium are analyzed, and conditions are elucidated under which Pd particles of various structure are formed on the carbon support surface. Approaches are proposed to obtaining finely dispersed supported Pd particles. The methods developed are illustrated by the example of designing catalysts for a number of industrial processes.
