Abstract:
A correlation between EPR-spectroscopic characteristics and catalytic activity of ferrisilicates after redox and hydrothermal treatments was studied. It was established that the oxidizing sites, which take part in the catalytic reaction, are responsible for the single-electron oxidation of benzene with the formation of radical cations that initiates the alkylation of benzene by propylene. These sites are highly dispersed ferromagnetic clusters retaining chemisorbed molecular oxygen.
