An Ion Cyclotron Resonance Study of Reactions Between Molybdenum Oxide Cluster Ions and Methane and Cyclopropane in the Gas Phase

Reactions of molybdenum oxygen-containing clusters MoxOy+ (x = 1-3, y = 1-9) with methane and cyclopropane were studied by ion cyclotron resonance. The formation of several organometallic ions, including molybdenum oxometallocarbenes MoxOy.CH2+ (x = 1-3, y = 2, 4, 5, 8), was observed. The upper and lower bond energy limits were estimated: 111 > D-O(MoxOy+ -CH2)> 82 kcal/mol (x = 1-3, y = 2, 5, 8).
