Abstract:
The heats of protonation of NH3, butylamines, Et3N, pyridine, and a series of pyridine derivatives on HNaY zeolite were measured by a calorimetric method. The heat of protonation depends primarily on the proton affinity of the base and on the number and strength of H bonds between ions and O atoms on the zeolite surface.
