Abstract:
Electrocatalytic reaction of methane on the La0.6Sr0.4MnO3 (LSM) anode of electrochemical cells based on SrO(CeO2)0.95(YbO1.5)0.05 (SCY) as a high-temperature, proton-conducting solid-electrolyte yields ethane and ethylene. Electric current is generated at zero voltage when methane is present in the anode compartment.
