Abstract:
The formation and stability of the intermediate radical ion CO2- were studied for the photocatalytic oxidation of CO or ZnO catalysts. The CO2- ion is formed by reaction of adsorbed CO with photoinduced O- on ZnO. The radical ion is destabilized by O2. The effect of chemisorption and physical adsorption of CO2 on formation and stabilization of electron and hole centers on ZnO was studied
