Abstract:
A study is made of the reactivity of copper oxide samples in the oxidation of carbon monoxide by molecular oxygen and by the oxygen of the catalyst, using a pulse microcatalytic method in a reactor with a vibrofluidized bed of catalyst. The state of the surface was investigated electrochemically, and the texture of the specimens was characterized by electron microscopy. The results obtained in this work show that high reactivity of copper oxide is determined by the presence of sites at which extended defects - dislocations - emerge to the surface.
