Abstract:
The catalytic properties in the CO + H2 reaction and the state of the iron have been investigated for iron have been investigated of iron silicates with a ZSM-5-type zeolite structure. It is shown that when Fe is introduced into the zeolite framework, the primary product of the reaction is methane. The chain length of the hydrocarbon products is increased up to C3 as the fraction of irons ions, stabilized in the form of associates in the zeolite channels, increases. No formation of aromatic hydrocarbons is observed, unlike the case with Si-Al zeolites in which iron was introduced by means of ion exchange.
