Abstract:
A pulse microcatalytic method using a flow-through calorimeter and a thermal desorption method have been used to study the change in the surface properties of a iron-antimony catalyst as it interacts with the reaction mixture during the oxidation of carbon monoxide and the oxidative dehydrogenation of 1-butene. It is shown that when the reaction proceeds at temperatures above 573 K, the surface of the catalyst does not contain adsorbed substances. The energy of the oxygen rises with the degree of reduction of the catalyst. During oxidative dehydrogenation there are strongly bound intermediates on the catalyst surface that decompose during thermal desorption to form carbon oxides and water, with the latter predominating.
