Abstract:
The substructures and morphology of ZnO catalysts subjected to mechanochemical activation were studied. For the 1st time, it is shown that substructure changes are due to the intrinsic nature of the ZnO crystal lattice. Defects are generated along the crystallog. c axis in overlayers and microdefects are generated in other directions. A decrease in the size of the region of coherent scattering is obsd. Three stages of mechanochemical activation are encountered depending on the duration of the treatment. Processes occurring during each stage are discussed.
