Abstract:
The state of Fe3+ was studied in a series of Pentasil-type iron silicate zeolites (catalysts) by ESR, Moessbauer, and x-ray structural anal. methods. The ESR signal with g = 4.3 has a temperature-dependent line-width and is associated with Fe3+ localized in tetrahedral sites of the zeolite lattice. It is assumed that [Si-O-Fe]-H+ complexes at these tetrahedral sites are converted to [Si-O-Fe]-. (Fe...)+ complexes as Fe content in the zeolites increases.
