Abstract:
The interaction of K2RuOHCl5 with Na7PW11O39 leads to a catalyst for the oxidation of primary alcohols and aldehydes by potassium chlorate into the corresponding carboxylic acids (with yields of about 100%) in an aqueous solution, pH 2, 25 - 75°C. Acrolein is oxidized into acrylic acid with a high selectivity.
