Abstract:
IR spectroscopic studies of surface compounds formed on noble metals (Pt, Pd and Rh) supported on γ-Al2O3, have been carried out under the separate and combined chemisorption of NO and CO and also in the NO−CO−O2 reaction. Some suggestions are made concerning the state of the active components of the catalyst, the deactivation effect of excess CO and O2 and the different catalytic properties of the systems examined.
