Abstract:
The formation of carbon-containing structures strongly bound to the surface of zeolites - coke deposits from propylene, methanol, buta-1,3-diene and aromatic hydrocarbons at temperatures of 573-673 K - has been investigated by the methods of IR and UV spectroscopy (in the DRS - diffuse relation spectroscopy - variant). Their formation takes place with the participation of acidic hydroxy groups through a stage of the synthesis of carbenium ions of aromatic nature. The pathways for the formation of coke deposits depends on molecular-sieve factors - the dimensions of the zeolite pores.
