Abstract:
A discussion with 30 refs. The modeling of the conversion of multicomponent mixtures requires the reduction of the no. of the kinetic equations describing the process. This can occur in 2 ways: use of reaction schemes for the conversion of hydrocarbon groups or statistical description of the composition of the multicomponent mixture by distribution functions. With the aid of the latter method it is possible to describe the product distribution of hydrocracking of normal paraffins (C8-11) with sufficient accuracy. The use of the free energy concept makes it possible to detected the relation of the activation energy of cracking and isomerization to the C no. in the chain.
