Abstract:
Comparative and BET methods were used to analyse adsorption isotherms for microporous systems. Formal application of the BET method results in a significant increase in the constant C, but the monolayer capacity is approximately equal to total adsorption in bulk micropores and to complete monolayer coverage on the mesopore surface. The comparative method permits determination of these quantities separately, although the choice of standard isotherm must be based on similarity of chemical natures of the surfaces and not on equality of C costs.
