Abstract:
Oxidation of methanol on a chromium-molybdenum oxide catalyst proceeds via the scheme:
CH3OH→W1O2CH2O→W2O2CO
The following kinetic equations have been obtained W1=K1CCH3OH1+a1CCH3OH+a2CH2O for the oxidation of methanol, and W2=K2CCH2O for the oxidation of formaldehyde.
