Abstract:
Three different types of catalytically grown carbon nanofibers were treated in the temperature range 1973–2873 K. Initial and treated materials were studied using HRTEM, XRD and nitrogen adsorption at 77 K. Their electroconductivities were also evaluated. High temperature treatment leads to significant changes in the morphology of nanofibers that have conical and platelet structures. High temperature treatment leads to an increase in eletroconductivity and the removal of residual metal catalysts.
