Abstract:
This chapter is devoted to the study of the structure of the active centers (AC) of drugs containing molecular iodine, located inside the nanoparticles of α-dextrine, and coordinated by lithium halogenides and polypeptides. In Armenicum, a drug for the treatment of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), and in the recently created antiinfective drug (AID), the molecular iodine is in a special form, which ensures their low toxicity, and thus they can be used for oral and parenteral treatment.
We investigated the effect of α-dextrin nanoparticles on the mechanisms of anti-HIV and anticancer activity of these drugs.
The antitumor activity of AID was studied in human and murine tumor cell lines in vitro.
The experiments were performed with human (HeLa and K562) and murine (L5178Y) tumor cell lines. The probable mechanism of the drug’s cytotoxic activity is explained by the results of molecular modeling process and density functional theory (DFT) calculations.
