Abstract:
Nucleation rates of supersaturated vapors near the critical line for 1,2-or 1,3-propanediols in an atmosphere of carbon dioxide or sulfur hexafluoride was measured in a flow diffusion chamber at system pressures P = 0.10, 0.20, and 0.30 MPa. Critical parameters and pressures of the binary systems versus condensed phase compositions were semi-empirically evaluated. Phase transitions of the binary systems were found experimentally. The nucleation rate surface singularity and a gap in the number of molecules in the critical embryo reflect these phase transitions.
