This review focuses on the description of the key properties of fiberglass materials explaining their specificity
and prospects of use as catalysts. The main feature of these materials is the property of being a solid polar viscous liquid
containing introduced metal ions and clusters in the subsurface layers at a depth of 10-20 nm. Besides, a bulk of fiber is
able to absorb polar organic and inorganic molecules. The combination of these properties results in high catalytic
activity and stability in acid and redox reactions.
