Abstract:
A comparison of the activation-energy Ea trends for the isotope O exchange on LaMO3 (M = Cr, Mn, Fe, Co, Ni) and on corresponding transition-metal (M) oxides reveals that the M cations are responsible for the exchange catalysis. Only for M = Ni was the LaMO3 substantially more active than the MOχ. The experiments with the LnCoO3 catalysts (Ln = La, Nd, Sm) showed that the Ln cations affect only the nature of the temp. dependence of the catalytic activity of these compounds.
