Abstract:
Here, we examined the EPR spectra upon adsorption of TNB onto dehydrated γAl2O3. The result of this study is an expected conclusion that the observed EPR spectrum of adsorbed TNB is presumably due to the presence of an NO(RNO ) radical anion, which is formed by the reaction of the NO2 group of TNB with labile oxygen O– of oxide groups of the substrate or with oxygen O– of the metal oxide film (for example, the oxide film on palladium metal).
Quantumchemical analysis of the EPR spectra of the NO radical confirms the above conclusion.
