Abstract:
The reaction of oxidation of carbon monoxide to CO2 is used as the model reaction for verification of many theoretical concepts of heterogeneous catalysis. In this work, this reaction was used for estimating the overheating of the active component in a supported metal catalyst relative to the average temperature of the catalyst bed measured by a thermocouple under the operating conditions of the Pt/SiO2 catalyst. To directly measure the temperature of Pt nanoparticles in the course of the reaction, the recently developed in situ X-ray powder diffraction method was used.
