The short-range order of amorphous Fe1−xBx alloys (0.15≦x≦0.25) is studied by EXAFS spectroscopy. The experimental data confirm the existence of structural and chemical heterogeneity. Using a special Bayesian least-squares algorithm with general constraints, the effective number of free structure parameters is reduced drastically, and a quantitative microphase analysis is performed for different combinations of short-range order types. As a result of the analysis we got the best parameter fit for a microstructure with bct Fe3B clusters embedded in a densely packed FeB intergranular region.
