Реферат:
The purpose of this work was to investigate the mechanism of the catalytic oxidation of hydrogen on ferric oxide by measuring the kinetic isotopic effect with respect to hydrogen. The rates, orders, and activation energies of the oxidation of protium (hydrogen- 1) and deuterium on ferric oxide were determined in a circulation- flow apparatus under conditions of a large excess of oxygen. The rate of oxidation of protium is higher than the rate of oxidation of deuterium; the reaction orders and activation energies are close. The simplest stepwise scheme of the reaction mechanism were considered. The kinetic data and values of the kinetic isotopic effects agree with three schemes of the mechanisms, according to which a molecule of hydrogen, weakly bound to the surface, enters into the active complex of the first stage.
