Synthesis and Characterization of the SiW11CeO394- Heteropolyanion

The complex heteropolyanion SiW11CeO394- (I) was synthesized in solution by electrodialysis. It was isolated as acid sodium and cesium salts and characterized by W-183 and O-17 NMR and IR spectroscopy. The W-183 NMR spectrum of I contains six lines. W-181 and O-17 NMR spectra were also recorded for (SiW11O39)(2)Ce12- (II), which was obtained earlier. The W-183 NMR spectrum of II shows 11 lines. Assignment of the W-183 NMR spectra of I and II was carried out. The thermal stability of NaH3SiW11CeO39 was studied, and it was found that (I) begins to decompose at about 150degreesC.
