Abstract:
Phase equilibria in binary mixtures in the subcritical and supercritical ranges of parameters and also gas-gas equilibria are studied. Phase diagrams are calculated by the homotopy method using the pressure as the parameter in the homotopy function. The Redlich-Kwong-Soave (RKS) equation with modified coefficients of two-particle interaction is used as a unified thermodynamic model for calculating phase states. Calculated pressure-composition diagrams for nitrogen-ammonia and nitrogen-n-heptane mixtures are compared to their respective experimental diagrams.
