Abstract:
Conclusions
1. The reduction of molybdenum vanadium phosphoric heteropoly acids (HPA) by Fe(II) ions involves two routes: 1) direct extraspherical reduction of the heteropoly anion (HPAn); 2) reduction of VO2+ ions formed by rapid dissociation of HPAn followed by incorporation of VO2+ in the HPAn.
2. The mechanisms of oxidation of heteropoly blues (HPB) by oxygen in the presence of the two different reducing agents Fe(II) and VO2+ are the same. The features of the kinetics of the catalytic process involve different mechanisms of regeneration of HPB-V4.
3. When HPA reacts with VO2+, the formation of HPB follows a mechanism of electron transfer from the VO2+ ion to the V(V) ion in HPAn.
