Abstract:
High-porosity cellular Ni-Cr alloys (3-50 wt.% Cr) are 8-10 times more effective in the catalysis of partial CH4 oxidation (920-980° and space velocity 2 × 10 h-1) than traditional supported catalysts. Catalysts containing 3-5 wt.% Cr are the most effective, giving 95.4-95.6% CH4 conversion. Such catalysts have a porosity of ≤98%.
