Abstract:
Correctness of the calculation of the area, am, occupied by a nitrogen molecule in the completed monolayer on solid surfaces from the density of a liquid adsorptive has been comprehensively analyzed. Nonconformity of these areas for nitrogen, argon, and krypton has been explained. A method for experimental determination of am is proposed. The dependence of am on the surface chemical nature has been examined.
