Abstract:
The frequency and form of normal vibrations of ethylene, propylene and their π-complexes, as well as π- and μ-allylic complexes of propylene and their deutero derivatives have been analyzed in the framework of normal coordinates analysis. It has been shown for ethylene and propylene complexes that the parameter f′ of normal vibrations with a maximum contribution made by qC=C sharply or slowly decreases in the case of H- and D-derivatives, respectively, with delocalization of the double bond (i.e. with the decrease of KCC). The value of f′ and such parameters as ΔνC=C = νgas C=C - νbondC=C and ΔνH→D C=C = νbondCnH2nC=C - νbondCnD2n C=C are structurally nonspecific; they vary depending on KC=C in the same manner for all adsorption types and are not suitable (except for some extreme values) for the identification of the type of the olefin-surface cation interaction. The state of the C=C bond can easily be identified from the ΔνC=C value when using D derivatives. IR spectra of surface OH-groups and some other information are required to identify the types of C3H3 complexes.
