Abstract:
IR results indicated that propylene (I) adsorption on a hydrated Sn-Mo oxide catalyst involves Broensted acid sites, and forms isopropoxide surface species which are converted to Me2CO at higher temperatures. A mechanism involving rate-determining dehydrogenation of the isopropoxide species was proposed for I oxidation to Me2CO on this catalyst.
