Abstract:
Programmed thermal desorption was used to study the interaction of oxidizable compounds with model bulk and supported bismuth-molybdenum catalysts with the replacement of a portion of the bismuth by nickel, iron, or cobalt. The thermal desorption data were correlated with the catalytic activity of the samples in the oxidative dehydrogenation of 1-butene and the oxidative ammonolysis of propylene. The nature of the interaction of the reactants with the surface of the various catalysts was of the same type. The basis of the correlation between the activity and adsorption properties is the difference in amounts of weakly bound adsorption species.
