Abstract:
Data on the states of copper ions in CuO (Cu2O) for solid samples, for samples supported on Al2O3, and for samples introduced into MgO have been compared. Two states of copper cations on a CuO surface, which are caused by the biographic nonuniformity of the oxide and have different effective charges, have been discovered. The influence of supports on the electronic state of copper ions either dissolved in the matrix or located on the surface in an associated state has been traced. An increase in the electron density on the copper cations due to the influence of basic oxides (MgO) is established.
