Abstract:
The electron state of metals in active components of the Ni-Mo/Al2O3 and Co-Mo/Al2O3 Sulfided catalysts prepared from metal complexes and by impregnation is studied by XPS. An increases in the E(b)-values of Ni 2p3/2 and Co 2p3/2 in the bimetallic catalysts compared to highly dispersed sulfides is found and is attributed to the lowering of the electron density on Ni and Co ions as a result of the formation of a sulfide bimetallic compound. In the sulfided catalysts prepared by impregnation, a part of Ni and Co atoms remain in an oxygen surrounding.
