Abstract:
Thermodynamic and kinetic characteristics of the reaction O- + O2 reversible [O- . O2] involving anion-radicals O-
(g perpendicular-to = 2.042, g parallel-to congruent-to g(e)) on the surface of MgO are studied. The heat of formation of [O- . O2] complexes is Q = (77 +/- 5) kJ/mol, and the activation energy of their decomposition is E(a) = (84 +/- 7) kJ/mol.
